Amy Pedagno
Amy Pedagno graduated first in her class from Ave Maria School of Law in 2012 and is a member of the Virginia State Bar. Prior to joining Just Law International on a full-time basis in January 2015, she concluded a two-year post-graduate fellowship with a non-profit focusing on international human rights concerns. Her main practice area at Just Law is asylum work.
Past places of employment include the US District Court for the Middle District of Florida, the Virginia Attorney General’s Office, and the US Environmental Protection Agency. Currently, Amy volunteers regularly with several area non-profits, including Catholic Charities, Rebuilding Together, and the Diocese of Arlington’s social justice programs.
Amy graduated summa cum laude from St. John’s University in 2009. She is a member of the President’s and Skull & Circle Societies. Her written publications include “Who are the Parents? In Loco Parentis, Parens Patriae, and Abortion Decision-Making for Pregnant Girls in Foster Care,” 10 Ave Maria L. Rev. 171 (2011), and “No Girls Allowed: Sex-Selection Abortion and a Guide to Banning It in the United States,” 5 Regent J. L. & Pub. Policy 101 (2013).
